The Chancellor’s Autumn Statement

The recent Autumn Statement presented a great opportunity to promote our clients’ knowledge and expertise.

We provided the business media with expert analysis and comment in the run-up to the chancellor’s much anticipated ‘mini budget’, as well as instant reaction on the day.

This resulted in valuable publicity for two of our clients - the international legal practice Osborne Clarke and personal finance firm Manning Gee Investments.

You can read some of the media coverage that we helped to generate here: autumn statement media coverage

This is a good example of how organisations can gain valuable publicity by ‘piggybacking’ on national events. Whether it’s significant dates in the calendar like the budget, World Mental Health Day or the COP environmental summits, we are quick to identify PR opportunities for our clients.

But spotting significant dates is the easy bit. The real challenge is finding a strong news angle that the media will respond to. That’s where our skill and knowledge as experienced PR practitioners and former journalists really come into play.

Who better to pitch a story to a journalist than a former reporter?

Journalists are always on the look-out for insightful comment that helps their readers, viewers and listeners make sense of often complex topics.
