How many emails do you get a day? 10, 20, 30? And do you manage to thoroughly read and respond to them all?
On average a journalist might receive 50 to 100 email pitches a day, and that’s being more than conservative.
So, the big question is, how do you cut through all that noise and gain the journalist’s attention?
This week our digital team attended a ton of events for Social Media Week Bristol, enriching their knowledge of an everchanging and challenging digital world. We’ve put together our top 10 take-aways from this year’s event and how you can use them to develop and grow your social media strategy for the year ahead…
Most businesses put a huge emphasis on sales but often what is really needed is to influence people – and that’s where public relations scores over advertising every time.
Empica is seeking an outstanding freelancer or PR agency partner to build on-the-ground relationships with target media in around Manchester and Cheshire for our fast-expanding national law firm client, Clarke Willmott.
We are looking for someone with solid media contacts, a head for news and features, and the ability to write convincing and engaging content relevant to Clarke Willmott’s business objectives.
Clarke Willmott has a reputation as being a leading provider of professional services outside London, offering a combination of family and private client services alongside broad commercial expertise. The firm has attracted a number of high profile partners from other firms in the last 12 months and is keen to support this growth through an improved media profile.
The successful candidate will:
Have strong media contacts with the regional media and sector trade media.
Have experience working alongside lawyers or other professionals at Senior Partner level.
Deliver copy for press releases, blogs, articles and media briefing documents ensuring the highest level of quality and accuracy.
Assist the client’s private client/family team in building awareness with the higher net-worth consumer market.
Assist the corporate/commercial partners in opening doors to both media and other platforms e.g. for speaking opportunities.
Liaise with Empica’s account managers on a regular basis working as part of the team.
The candidate profile we are looking for is an individual with a previous track record in public relations or business journalism. We will also look at candidates with non-legal experience such as property, accountancy and consultancy.
The candidate will have close contacts with media outlets in Manchester and Cheshire and the ability to react quickly to relevant breaking news and generate material in response.
The contract is for circa 5 days per month support (with flexibility on hours available). The contract will be with Empica but work will be exclusively for Clarke Willmott and the successful candidate will work directly with the client in Manchester with the support of the broader Clarke Willmott team.
Empica has been producing high quality results for clients for over 25 years. We gain coverage on television, radio, in print, online, through social media channels and relationships with bloggers and online writers. Visit us at: www.empica.com
