Bespoke training to handle the media

Empica provides training to individuals and groups on how to make a good impression in the media. This includes techniques for dealing with print, radio and television journalists when you want to promote your product or services. It also includes communicating in a crisis or dealing with negative media questioning.

Who is your training aimed at?

We’ve supported people at all levels in business as well as educational and charitable organisations. Typically, we deliver training to directors and senior managers, HR and marketing teams, new recruits, newly-qualified PR practitioners and designated media spokespeople.

Our group training can be adapted to suit almost any format and occasion, including onboarding programmes, lunch time learning sessions, company away days and team building events. They are also often run as stand-alone, half-day, full-day or two-day workshops.

Our one-to-one coaching sessions are also bespoke and developed to suit the individual’s needs, whatever their role or remit. Training can be carried out at your own premises, a location of your choice or one of our recommended training venues.

Our team

We have a dedicated team of experienced in-house trainers. They are all former journalists, have provided training throughout their careers and are practicing PR professionals. They are supported by our technical team and in-house video and recording equipment.

Venue Choice

Our courses can be delivered at any suitable conference hotel or at clients’ premises. We also have our preferred venue Ham Green House  - close to the M5 junction 19.

Ham Green House

Ham Green House is a wonderful retreat where our hire fees go to support the charity Penny Brohn UK, which helps people live well with cancer. Group training can be held inside or in the spectacular grounds if the weather permits.

There are retreat bedrooms available for those travelling a distance and the opportunity to hold two-day courses or start a course in the evening with a healthy meal and run a full day’s  event the next day.

Our half-day course can be combined with a suitable half-day fun experience  with cookery demonstrations, mindfulness and yoga, film-making tasks among the options we can arrange. You can bespoke your training to suit your needs.
