Empica Managing Director, Martin, met up with a high-powered delegation from China in Bristol as part of our work for the Bristol & West of England China Bureau.
The party from Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province took a whistle-stop tour of Bristol cultural and media including Bristol Museum and the BBC newsroom in Whiteladies Road.
Tan Yanwei, Vice Mayor of Jinan Municipal Government led the group, which included television, media and landscape and forestry specialists.
Jinan, nicknamed City of Springs, has dozens of artesian springs in the city and the delegation had earlier been to Bath to see how the Roman Baths are managed and marketed.
Martin went with the group to Bristol Museum where Bristol Lord Mayor Councillor Clare Campion-Smith met up with the delegation as they were given a short tour of the museum’s rare collection of Chinese glass by Senior Collections Officer Kate Newnham.
Tan Yanwei showed the Lord Mayor film of Jinan’s spectacular Springs Festival before the delegation continued their UK visit by travelling on to York.
